Aurora

Aurora Aksnes is a Norwegian Singer and Songwriter. She was born in Stavanger on June 15th, 1996. Her professional name is Aurora. Her name could also be stylized as AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves, released in May 2015 by Decca Records to great approval from music journalists and media. Half the World Away - by the Oasis to accompany John Lewis' Christmas ad and Nature Boy - by Nat King Cole is already two notable covers that she has recorded. Katy Perry, who endorsed the tune Runaway with her voice, gave the song a boost of recognition. It was her birthday celebration. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memories involve finding an instrument hidden in her attic, and becoming fascinated with the sounds it produced. Jan Oystein Aksnes was her father. The Aksnes family encouraged her to not to play music only for fun or to aid in development but instead, she must take it seriously. So she started writing her own songs. She is credited with Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen and Bjork as being her influences. To counter her mother's suggestions that her children should not be aiming to be famous through the songs she writes, but rather be aware of the significance of them and the impact they have on society. The piano was first played by her when she was six years old and started writing songs at the age of nine. It was not until she turned 14 when she shared her story with her parents. Aurora's fame was not her goal. Aurora is simply a writer who loves writing songs. She says that music is her preferred method of feeling anything.
